Child Protection Information

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

Clearances (for Volunteers and Employees who are involved in areas where children are present) are valid for a period of five years. Many of you obtained your clearances in 2015 when Pennsylvania passed the law requiring clearances for volunteers and employees and you will have to redo your clearances this year. Volunteers no longer have to pay for clearances—they are free every 57 months. IF you are not sure when your clearances expire-contact Pastor Abby or Deanna.

The following is a link to the background check and child abuse check as well as FBI check if needed: (FBI is not needed by volunteers who have lived in PA for more than 10 years).

If you’ve lived in PA for more than 10 years you don’t have to do FBI check but you do have to sign the following form:

You will be required to sign Calvary’s Child Protection Policy which was adopted at the Congregational Meeting in November 2019. A copy is also found in the Clearances Packet.

We recommend that you pick up a CLEARANCES PACKET off of the table in the MISSION CENTRAL room. Use the forms as a worksheet so that you will have all the information you need available when you do your applications. If you do not want to do your applications online, you will find the mail-in forms in that packet also. PLEASE do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have by contacting Pastor Abby or Deanna. Thank you!
